Entry & Eligibility Information

Entries Open: Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 9:00 AM
Entries Close: Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 5:00 PM

Tournament Type: Invitational
Divisions: Boys15-18 Division, Girls 12-18 Division, Boys 14 & Under Division

Eligibility: Entries are open to male golfers with an active membership with the Texas Junior Golf Alliance. Players with exemptions will be added first with the remaining spots being filled based on player rankings. Please reference LJT Policies and Procedures for further details.

Exemptions: Players can earn exemptions into the field through a variety of categories that are outlined on the Tournament Exemptions Page. The LJT reserves the right to select players to be in the field. For exemption request details, please view LJT Policies and Procedures. Exempt players must enter by the published deadline or they will lose their exempt status and spot in the final field.

Championship Information

Format/Field Size: Play will be contested over 36 holes of stroke play. The field is limited to 120 players.

Practice Round Information: Players will be responsible for making their own tee times with the club no earlier than seven days prior to the practice round date. The official practice round date is Friday, September 25. The fee is $25 and does not include a cart. Please call the golf shop to (325) 643-1023.

Registration Information: Players will be responsible for registering at the event during the registration windows. At the time of registration, players will receive tee gifts as well as tournament information.

Starting Times: Pairings for the first and second rounds will be available on Wednesday, September 23 at www.txga.org. Copies will be available near the first tees starting Saturday, September 26. Final round pairings will be available after the completion of the second round and will be redrawn according to scores from the previous rounds.

Cancellation/Withdrawal Policy: The cancellation deadline is 10 days prior to the tournament start date. For refund details, please check LJT Championship Policies.

Caddies: Players are not permitted a caddie for the championship.

Transportation: Players will be required to walk during the competition, unless acting under the discretion of an LJT rules official. Non-motorized push/pull carts will be permitted during the championship. Spectator carts will not be allowed for the Texas Cup Invitational. Should you need a handicap cart, please email Kevin Porter ([email protected]) or call the LJT office to reserve one at (214) 468-8955. You will need a valid handicap placard to get a cart during the tournament rounds.

Score Posting

The Legends Junior Tour will post all tournament scores to player’s GHIN Handicaps. Players with handicaps associated with their accounts will be updated after each round and will not have to post scores themselves. Player of The Year Points & Exemptions

Points towards the LJT Player of the Year Standings will be awarded to the top half of the tournament field and will be awarded following the final results. Exemptions into future LJT Majors and Invitationals will be updated and letters will be sent out letting exempt players know when they can sign up. All ties for points and exemptions will be retained. Results will be sent to the AJGA, Junior Golf Scoreboard and Golfweek following the final round and updated on their end accordingly.

Rules of Golf

The championship will be contested under the 2019 Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association and R&A, its interpretations and clarifications, 2020 Legends Junior Tour Local Rules and Terms of Competition and any local rules given to the player on their first tee.
