Posting of Tournament Scores to GHIN

  • Tournament scores in individual stroke play rounds will be automatically be posted as a "T” score for handicap purposes to your home club/course. Therefore, players in individual stroke play TGA competitions DO NOT need to post their tournament scores to avoid duplication.
  • Handicap Revision Effective Date

    • For TGA competitions where a maximum handicap index is required for eligibility, the handicap index as of the date of entry will be used unless otherwise specified on entry. For events where a handicap index is used for scoring, or for purposes of determining flights, the effective revision date published on the application will be used.
  • Code of Conduct

    • Contestants (and their caddies) are to observe proper golf etiquette at all times. Any abuse or disrespect of fellow competitors, officials, spectators, employees of the host facility, or other persons conducting or attending a TGA sponsored event can be grounds for disqualification from the event, and possible rejection of entry for future TGA events. Such abuse may be verbal or physical or threat thereof and includes, but is not limited to: the use of obscene language, physical damage to property or equipment including that of the TGA or the host facility, and being under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances during a competitive round.
  • Dress Code

    • Appropriate golf attire is required at all TGA events. This includes collared shirts with sleeves that must be properly tucked in at all times, Bermuda length shorts, or slacks. The dress code of the host facility will prevail if there is any question.
  • No Shows/On Course Withdrawals

    • Players are subject to rejection of entries or loss of TGA Player of the Year points if they;
      • Fail to appear for their assigned starting time without notifying a TGA staff member or a designated TGA official.
      • Withdraws or leaves the golf course during a tournament round without notifying a TGA staff member or designated TGA official.
      • Final decision will be made by the TGA Championship Committee.
  • Refund Policy

    • If a player withdraws prior to the entry deadline he will receive a full refund, less a $25.00 administrative fee. If a player withdraws after the entry deadline has passed, the player will not receive a refund unless the spot is filled by alternate or wait listed player (The $25.00 administrative fee is still applicable in this circumstance); however if the player withdraws the Monday before the event and the spot is filled with an alternate player, they will only receive a 50% refund of the entry fee. Otherwise the player will receive no entry fee refund. In exceptional circumstances a player may file a written appeal for a refund to the TGA Tournament Committee. These will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Wait List

    • Entries received after the field limit has been reached will be placed on a "waitlist” for that event. Applicants will be ranked on the waitlist in the order their application was received by the TGA. Any spots in the field that become available will then be filled in accordance with the ranked waitlist. The TGA will use the waitlist up until 6:00 PM of the night prior to Round One. After that time, any player on the waitlist may exercise their right to walk up on site. Please see "Walk Up Procedure” for further details.
  • Exemptions Requests

    • A player that wishes to request an exemption into a TGA competition must do so in writing. This request must be submitted to the TGA offices prior to the published entry deadline for the event. Exemption requests are reviewed by the TGA Championship Committee on a case-by-case basis, and only granted under exceptional circumstances.
  • Walk Up Procedure

    • To be a part of the Walk Up procedure you must be either a TGA alternate or waitlisted player. Players wishing to Walk Up are required to check in with the TGA official at the first tee 30 minutes prior to the start of Round One. Alternates or waitlisted players who are late to check in will be placed at the bottom of the Walk Up list. At check in you will be ranked in accordance with your status as either an alternate or waitlisted player.
    • Once play begins, if a player who is in the starting field fails to show up at the tee at the designated time, an alternate or waitlisted player will be called. If the player does not show within five minutes, the alternate or waitlisted player’s ball will be in play.
    • Rankings for Waitlisted Players - Waitlisted players present for the Walk Up procedure will be checked in and then ranked based on the original order their application was received by the TGA. This ranking does not apply to State Amateur and Mid-Amateur qualifiers – see below.
    • Walk Up Procedure for Qualifying Rounds – If a player is entered in a State Amateur or State Mid-Amateur qualifier, and circumstances arise after the entry deadline has passed that cause him to miss his assigned qualifier, he may follow the "Walk Up Procedure” outlined above at another qualifier. Any waitlisted player at a qualifying site will be drawn by lot to replace players in the field that fail to show up at his designated starting time.
  • Alternate Substitution

    • Only those players who have earned alternate status through TGA qualifying are eligible for alternate substitution. Any spots in the Championship field that become available will be filled by the highest ranked alternate from the same site as the player who withdrew. The TGA ranks all qualifying sites based on size and quality of the field. Spots which become available through an exempt player withdrawal will be filled by the 1st alternate at the #1 ranked qualifying site, then the 1st alternate at the #2 ranked site, and so on. The TGA will contact alternates for substitution up until 6:00 PM of the night prior to the start of Round One. After that time, any player on the alternate list may exercise their right to walk up on site. Please see "Walk Up Procedure” for further details.
    • Rankings For Alternate Players - Alternate players present at the Walk Up Procedure will be checked in and then ranked based on the following: All 1st alternates will get priority and will fill any open spots in the order of their qualifying site rank. The 1st alternate at the #1 ranked site, will be first, then the 1st alternate from the #2 ranked site, and so on. If all 1st alternates present gain a spot in the tournament, then 2nd alternates will fill any remaining open spots in the same manner as the 1st alternates.
