Eligibility: Entries are open to male amateur golfers who are 25 years of age or older by the first round of tournament play, and reside in the North Texas region as defined by the Texas PGA Sections (31ْْ parallel, Salado TX and south is break point).  Applicants must have a certified GHIN Handicap Index of 8.4 or less. Please reference TGA Policies and Procedures for further details, including Policies and Procedures, and Conditions of Competitions.
 
Exemptions: Provided players are otherwise eligible, exemptions are given to the following: 
a) Top five (5) players (and ties) on previous year’s Medalist North points list;
b) Last five (5) North Mid-Amateur champions;
c) Last five (5) North Amateur champions;
d) Previous year’s North Mid-Amateur Low Mid-Master;
e) Previous year’s North Senior Amateur champion (Senior Division);
f) Top ten (10) finishers (and ties) in previous year’s North Mid-Amateur;
g) Three (3) host club exemptions.
 
The TGA reserves the right to select players to be in the field. For exemption request details, please view TGA Policies and Procedure. Exempt players must enter by the published deadline or they will lose their exempt status and spot in the final field.
 
Championship Information
 
Format/Field Size: Play will be contested over 54 holes of individual stroke play with no cut. The field is limit 84 players. 
 
 Mid-Master Recognition: In addition to the overall champion, an award will be given to the low Mid-Master finisher. (Mid-Master – any player 40+ years of age)
 
What's Included:  The championship entry fee includes greens, cart, and range fees for all championship rounds.
 
Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one practice round at the negotiated rate of $50 including cart seat. Tuesday – Thursday anytime; Friday – Sunday after 1 PM. Players can schedule their practice round tee time 7 days in advance. Please contact the host club golf shop to schedule a practice round.
 
Registration Information:  There is no official on-site registration or check-in required.  Players should arrive to the tee approximately 8 minutes prior to their starting time.
 
Pairings/Tee Time Information: Pairings/Tee times for the first and second rounds will be made available no later than Wednesday, March 21st online at www.TXGA.org. Round 1 and 2 tee times will be off #1 and #10 tees starting at 8:00 AM. Final round starting times/pairings will be available in the evening preceding play (approximately one hour after the completion of play) online at www.TXGA.org, in the Texas Golf Association Tournament Office and the Golf Shop. Final round starting times will be re-drawn based on total score following the previous rounds of play.
 
Policies & Procedures
 
To ensure that competitors have the best possible experience when competing in the championship, it is helpful to be knowledgeable of Texas Golf Association (TGA) Policies and Procedures, Conditions of Competition and Local Rules (Hard Card), as established by the association.  For more information, please click here.  For information specific to Conditions of Competition applicable to this championship, please see below:
Caddies:  Caddies are permitted during the championship.  Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie for the competition.  Caddies must abide by the host facility dress code.
Transportation:  Players are encouraged to ride carts during all championship rounds. Cart fees for all championship rounds are included in the entry fee. Carts are limited to two (2) riders at one time and two (2) carts per group. There are no spectator carts allowed during TGA Championships.
USGA Groove Condition of Competition (Not in Effect): The USGA groove rules effective January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect for this competition.  
 
Score Posting:  At the conclusion of the championship each players score will be automatically posted as a "T” or tournament score to the GHIN handicap system.  Please do not enter your own scores from the competitive rounds, as this will result in a double post.
