TGA Disaster Relief Fund

Join the Texas Golf Association Foundation in an effort to assist those impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Hurricane Harvey ravaged Southeast Texas with historic amounts of rainfall and left behind a wake of destruction. Thousands of businesses were devastated, and among them were golf courses of all descriptions all over the Houston metro and Gulf Coast regions.

Many of these public and private facilities were flooded and won’t reopen for weeks – perhaps longer in some cases. In addition to the physical damage, Hurricane Harvey also had a crushing effect on the hourly employees at these facilities. All those who work hard to make the member experience rewarding for so many people now find themselves without a job for the foreseeable future.

The TGA Foundation seeks your help in assisting those who need the most relief. In this great time of need, we’re asking the Texas Golf Community to rally and support these golf facilities and their employees.

Your donation to the TGA Disaster Relief Fund will be made directly to the TGA Foundation, which is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. In coordination with the Southern Texas PGA Section and the Club Managers Association, the TGA Foundation Board of Directors will distribute the funding to those in the greatest need at the club level.

This relief fund is not in competition with the Red Cross, the Houston Food Bank or any of the dozens of worthy charitable organizations that also are taking donations to help those in need after this tragic event. One beacon of light in this dark time has been the spirit of Texas that has illuminated in the form of complete strangers helping each other. We’re all Texans. We’re all neighbors. We’re all in this together.

This is an opportunity for the Texas Golf Community to stand up and help the countless people whose lives have been upended by a brutal force of nature. We’re asking for your help. If you can donate, please do. And know that anything you contribute will be greatly appreciated by everyone involved.
