Texas Golf Association, Since 1906

History

History

Since its founding in 1916, with the purpose of hosting an annual championship, the Women’s Texas Golf Association has grown from an organization serving the female members of six Texas clubs into a vital part of one of the largest State Golf Associations in the country.  When the WTGA and TGA merged in 2014, women’s golf became part of a unified organization working to “promote the playing and advancement of the Royal and Ancient game of golf in Texas.”  This new relationship expands the reach of women’s initiatives into more than 500 clubs and to 130,000 individual members across the State.
