Senior Performance Points Information

The Senior Player of the Year award will be given to the player that earns the most points through the calendar year. To be eligible for the award, a player must play in at least one (1) TGA event during the year.

Players will earn points based on the scale outlined below. During the season, players will be able to view the current year’s point standings at the bottom of this page. If there is a tie for the Senior Player of the Year, Co-Players of the Year will be named.

Senior ties will be broken to determine participants for any TGA selected team in the following order: 1) By the better finish in current year’s Senior Amateur Championship; 2) Low final round in current year’s Senior Amateur Championship.
The TGA reserves the right to not select any player(s) to participate in any TGA, TGA sponsored or TGA selected team event. A player’s conduct that does not best represent the traditions and high ideals of the Texas Golf Association and the game of golf will be deemed ineligible. Such determination will be made solely by the TGA Championship Committee.

Senior performance points are awarded based on final finishing position in the respective events. All ties, other than for first place, which is determined by a sudden death playoff, will be split. Points listed below to be awarded for State Amateur Championship and State Mid-Amateur are for the Senior Performance Points standings only.
Example: Two (2) players tie for fifth (5th) place in the State Mid-Amateur – each receives 375 points. Three (3) players tie for fifth (5th) place in the State Mid-Amateur – each receives 350 points.
