Texas Player of the Year Standings

Information

To be eligible for the award, a player must play in at least one (1) TGA event during the year. Players will earn points based on the scale outlined on the "Breakdown” page, which can be accessed using the link at the bottom of this page. During the season, players will be able to view the current year’s point standings on the Texas Golf Association website. If there is a tie for Player of the Year, Co-Players of the Year will be named.

Statewide ties will be broken to determine participants for any TGA selected team in the following order: 1) By the better finish in current year’s Mid-Amateur Championship; 2) By the better finish in current year’s Amateur Championship; 3) Low final round in current year’s Amateur Championship.

The TGA reserves the right to not select any player(s) to participate in any TGA, TGA sponsored or TGA selected team event. A player’s conduct that does not best represent the traditions and high ideals of the Texas Golf Association and the game of golf will be deemed ineligible. Such determination will be made solely by the TGA Championship Committee.
