The TGA Foundation was established by the Association to ensure that golf would continue to grow and prosper in Texas, and that deserving young people, from every walk of life, could be exposed to the game and its valuable life lessons.
The Foundation provides grants and scholarships to individuals and organizations whose programs and initiatives bring golf to young people. Foundation grants have supported, among other endeavors, The First Tee program across the state, and the Northern Texas PGA's Golf-in-Schools program, both of which reach thousands of youth on the local level, providing them with instruction, educational material and encouragement.
The TGA Works program, created and supported by the Foundation, gives young people meaningful employment at a golf club or golf facility. Golf professionals, superintendents and club managers serve as mentors helping develop personal qualities such as honesty, respect and self-esteem. The young people also learn about the many potential career choices that golf provides.
To further the golf experience for the next generation, the Foundation joined with the Northern and Southern PGA Sections to support the Legends Junior Tour, one of the nation’s most competitive and highly-regarded junior tours, for both boys and girls junior golfers.
The TGA Foundation is a 501 (c )(3) nonprofit organization funded by private and corporate donations.
