2007 Four-Ball Championship Results

Humble, TX - The brand new Four-Ball Championship was played June 25-27 at the Redstone Members Course in Humble, Texas. Redstone Golf Club is the home of the Shell Houston Open and it is known for its challenging courses, as well as its gorgeous layout. With a combination of a great course and the popular four-ball format, you can easily see why this new championship had a full field of top seeds!

Registration was held on June 25th at 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and a 1:30 p.m. practice round shotgun followed. The ladies came fully equipped with their rain gear and they found that it was needed due to some afternoon showers. Most of the ladies were able to get about 13 holes in and some were determined to study the course before round one, playing all 18. After the practice round a welcome dinner took place in the club house.

Next up was round one, an 8 a.m. shotgun on June 26th. Despite all of the rain Redstone had received, it seemed to be draining really well and was in great shape! After a couple of rain delays, competitive first round scores started to pour in. Jewell Malick and Anna Schultz posted a 68 to tie with Stacy Brown and Shelley McGraw. Close behind was Carolyn Creekmore and Toni Wiesner with a 69. Also in Flight Two Sidney Bowden and Jackie Gattis posted a 70.

The second round started with an 8 a.m. shotgun as well. The sun was out and the ladies were ready to do it again. There were some close flight matches, including Becky Spears and Carolyn Henry in Flight 4, playing with Jan Leach and Margie Randleman who both shot an 83 in round one. Also in Flight 3, Becky Mitchell and Donna Wilwerding (74) played Deb Sanders and Raydene Teel (76). By the end of round two some great scores were up, but a 135 posted by Shelly McGraw and Stacy Brown was the overall champions score.
