San Antonio, TX - The Ninth Annual State Partnership began April 10, 2007 at Silverhorn Country Club in San Antonio, TX. Silverhorn has been ranked among "The Top 25 Courses in Texas” by The Dallas Morning News, and it is considered as one of the most challenging layouts in San Antonio. On April 10th the ladies played a practice round. The players were very excited about the upcoming championship being played at Silverhorn, and even though the weather was in the low 50’s for the first half of the day, they were not going to miss an opportunity to practice and study the course.

Next up was round one. The sun was out and the ladies were ready to play. The shotgun started at 8:30 a.m. Returning champions, Christine Braatz and Joanne Burleson were in the field, as well as the 2005 champs, Alli Jarrett and Sis Singletary. By the end of the round we had some great scores and close matches. Cathe Schmitt and Dianne Kirwan finished with +19 points and right behind them with +18 points were Linda Parker and Kris Curtis.

The final round was April 12th and the players had another early morning shotgun starting at 8:30 a.m. Silverhorn’s narrow fairways and extreme hazards were the topics of the morning; however this didn’t stop these championship players from posting some great scores. By the end of the day the match was close but Pam Sexton and Pilar Velazquez posted a score of +27 points, barely beating Bobbie Proctor and Kayla Parish by 2.5 points to win the overall champion prize.
