All of which would compete in match play the rest of the week. Stacy Dennis of Huntsville fired a blistering 66 to claim the Medalist honors in the Qualifying Round. The rest of the week was head to head match play competition. Day two of match play hosted some intense scenes including the match between Rachel Romack and Nancy Beck who went to 27 holes in Flight 3. Also in the championship flight, two fellow Texas Tech players, Rosalyn Kim and local favorite Gabriella Dominguez went head to head on day two. Kim moved on to the quarterfinal beating Dominguez 5 & 3. But in the end, it was Huntsville’s, Stacy Dennis, who prevailed. In a beautiful display of golf that included five birdies, Dennis claimed the top honors over Rosalyn Kim of Belton in the final round of match play. Both women posted sub-par scores for the qualifying round on Monday and were on winning paths all week to make to the finals to play head to head. The match ended on the picturesque 15th hole at Ridgewood, where Kim conceded a 15 foot birdie putt after missing her own birdie attempt from the fringe. Kim had to win the hole for the match to continue. Congrats to all of our flight and flight consolation winners.
