Entries Open: May 13, 2020 @ 9:00 a.m.

Weekday Qualifying Free: $130
Weekend Qualifying Fee: $160
Exempt Entry Fee: $130
Eligibility: Entries are open to male amateur golfers who reside in the state of Texas region with a certified WHS Handicap Index of 6.4 or less. Please reference TGA Policies and Procedures for further details, including Policies and Procedures, and Terms of Competition.
Exemptions: Provided players are otherwise eligible, exemptions are given to the following:
- Last five (5) Texas Amateur Champions;
- Top 15 finishers (and ties) in the previous year’s Texas Amateur;
- Last five (5) Texas Mid-Amateur Champions;
- Top five (5) finishers (and ties) in the previous year’s Texas Mid-Amateur;
- Previous and current year’s Texas Mid-Amateur Match Play Winner & Runner-Up;
- Previous year’s Texas Senior Amateur Champion;
- Top 10 finishers (and ties) on the previous year’s TGA Statewide Player of the Year Points List;
- Top three (3) finishers (and ties) on the previous year’s TGA Regional Player of the Year Points List;
- Three (3) host club exemptions;
- Top three (3) finishers (and ties) in the previous year’s TGA Regional Amateur, not already exempt, within the top ten (10 finishers);
- Winner and Runner-Up in the current year’s TGA Regional Mid-Amateurs (Canceled);
- Current year’s LJT Byron Nelson Junior Champion;
- Previous and current year’s LJT Texas Junior Amateur Champion (Boys 15-18);
- Previous year’s Texas Legends Junior Tour Player of the Year (Boys 15-18);
- Winner & Runner-Up in previous and current year’s West Texas Amateur;
- Top 850 in the R&A/USGA World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) at the time of entry.
The TGA reserves the right to select players to be in the field. For exemption request details, please view TGA Policies and Procedures. Exempt players must enter by the published deadline or they will lose their exempt status and spot in the final field.
Championship Information
Format/Field Size: Play will be contested over 72 holes of stroke play. The field is limited to 132 players; at the completion of 36 holes the field will be cut to the low 54 players and ties.
Spectators: Due to Covid-19, we must put in place restrictions to maintain a safe environment for the championship. Together, Boot Ranch and the Texas Golf Association have decided to limit the number of individuals who will be able to attend the event with the players. Players can have a total of one (1) spectator and (1) caddie on site at a time. Should a player not have a caddie, that player is still limited to one spectator.
Prior to each day of the championship, this form must be completed, even if you do not intend to have a caddie or spectator on site.
What’s Included: The championship entry fee includes greens, cart and range fees for all championship rounds including the championship practice round. The entry fee also includes championship gifts, breakfast and lunch during all competitive rounds.

Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1)complimentary practice round on Wednesday, August 5 only. Players must contact the Boot Ranch Golf Shop on or after July 29 to schedule a practice round tee time.
Starting Times/Pairings Information: Starting times/pairings for the first round will be made no later than Monday, August 3 online at www.txga.org. Third and final round starting times/pairings will be available in the evening preceding play (approximately one hour after the completion of play) online at www.txga.org. Final round starting times/pairings will be re-drawn based on total score following the previous rounds of play.
Policies & Procedures
To ensure that competitors have the best possible experience when competing in the championship, it is helpful to be knowledgeable of Texas Golf Association (TGA) Policies and Procedures, Terms of Competition and Local Rules (Hard Card), as established by the association. Automated Transportation Prohibited: Players and their caddies must walk at all times during the practice round and all stipulated rounds of the championship, unless being shuttled by a member of the Committee or authorized shuttle. Push/pull carts will be permitted, but players are responsible for supplying their own.
Caddies: See COVID-!9 TGA Championship Guidelines for information on caddies. Should the guidelines change, players will be updated in advance of the championship.
TGA Medical Cart Request Policy
Spectators carts are prohibited. However, spectators in accordance of ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season. A request will not be deemed complete until all required information and documentation has been provided.
