Six Under Leads After First Round at North Four-Ball

The first round of the 2013 North Four-Ball kicked off today
on the Fazio Course at Stonebriar Country Club. The day opened with a one hour
frost delay and cold temperatures that challenged the field early on.

The Team of Lee/Reynolds opened with a stellar 66 to tie for
the lead. They made the turn on a torrid pace with birdies on 16,17, and 18 to
shoot 31 on the back nine.  Team
Berry/Grimes tied the lead with a consistent three under on both nines. They played
exceptionally well on the Par 3’s, posting birdie on three of the four holes. As
the temperature warmed up in the afternoon, teams began to take advantage of
the favorable weather. Team Waldrip/Schaefer came in close behind with 67 and a
string of birdies on 3,4, and 5. Also tied for second with 67, Team
McCaslin/Abbot strung together several birdies before making the turn and
shooting a solid front nine. The conditions did little to slow down Bill Steen
who aced hole ten to start his round and continued to play well placing team
Steen/Houston into a tie for 3rd with six others.

Round two begins tomorrow at 8 a.m. and promises to be an
exciting finish with many teams in contention. Information on tee times can be
