Pat Youngs Wins Medalist at Comanche Trace

The final Medalist Hill Country event was held this past weekend at The Club at Comanche Trace in Kerrville, TX. With many players eyeing an exemption into the Texas Mid-Amateur Championship, this was sure to be an exciting event. After round 1, Pat Youngs and Jeremiah Schoonover were tied for the lead at 1-over par, 73. Close behind were Trevor Hyde and Bob Kearney at 3-over par, 75. With 8 players within 5 shots of the lead heading into round 2, it was still anyone’s event. On Sunday, several players bettered their round 1 scores. Trevor Hyde, who opened with at 75, shot a solid 73 to finish alone in 2nd place at 148. Bob Kearney was tied with Hyde after round 1 and shot 74 to finish alone in 3rd at 149. Starting the day tied for the lead, Pat Youngs followed up his 73, with a 1-under par 71 to win the event by 4 shots at 144. Final Points List winners and exemptions will be finalized and announced by the end of the week.

The TGA would like to congratulate Pat Youngs on a great win. We would also like to thank The Club at Comanche Trace for playing host to this great event.
