Semi-final Matches Determined

The Quarterfinal matches of the 2013 League Play Championships were conducted under beautiful conditions today at Horseshoe Bay’s Slick Rock Course.

The #1 seeded team of Dallas Athletic Club (Blue) found themselves in a tough fight with the team from UT Golf Club. After the first two four ball matches were complete the points were evenly split at 3 a piece. The final two matches saw some key putts drop for the DAC team on the final holes which put them on top 7.5 to 4.5. DAC will be looking for redemption after a first round exit from the 2012 playoffs.

Lakeside Country Club came loaded for bear in their match against The Lakes of Castle Hills. Lakeside got off to a fast start by sweeping all 6 points in the first two matches, then won 5 more for a convincing victory of 11 to 1. Castle Hills earned a playoff spot in their first year participating and should be commended for their performance this season.

Tierra Verde G.C. took full advantage of a short handed Brook Hollow team to advance to the semi finals. Tierra Verde won a handful of points on the front side and managed to stave off a late charge from the Brook Hollow squad who would not go away without a fight til the final hole.

Redstone Country Club defeated Gleneagles Country Club in the final quarterfinal match of the day. At the turn the match was all even, but Redstone put the hammer down on the back side to earn 7.5 points to Gleneagles 4.5

Semi final matches feature DAC vs. Lakeside and Tierra Verde will face Redstone. Semi final matches will be played on Saturday at Horseshoe Bay Ram Rock Course.
