WTGA Eclectic Round 1

Austin, Texas (February 24, 2013) –The WTGA
Eclectic Round 1 is over and proved to be a tough day for the ladies.  The low score of the day was Anna Morales, of
Austin, who came in with a 75.  Right
behind her was Jewell Malick (Rockwall) who shot a 77 and 4 other ladies
followed this with a 78.  Round 2 will
be up for grabs, as each player takes her better
hole score over the two days to get their 18 hole total. This is a forgiving format
because a player can play poorly on a hole one day, but come back the second
day shooting a better score for that hole. This year the field is strong with past Gross Champions, Anna Schultz
(Rockwall) and Teresa Hood (South Lake).
Also, past Net Champions, Judith Sprehe (Plano) and Gerrie Donovan
(Woodlands) will be playing.

“We
consider this an honor and a privilege to host the WTGA Eclectic tournament at
UT”, said Greg Garner, UT Golf Club Head Professional.  UT Golf Club is no stranger to WTGA events,
as they hosted the 2010 WTGA State Amateur Championship.

“UT
Golf course is one of the state’s best and most challenging designs.  We are excited to be here again and looking
forward to working with the UT Staff”, said Katie O’Donnell (Manager of WTGA
competitions).

The
WTGA would like to thank the membership and staff of UT Golf Club, as well as
our volunteers and rules officials.  We
are looking forward to a great week.
Stay tuned and follow the Eclectic for Round 2 results here.
