Randy and Walker Lee Win 2014 Father-Son Championship

(Fredericksburg, TX) – Randy and Walker Lee, of Houston, claim the 2014 Father-Son Championship at Boot Ranch in Fredericksburg. Houston’s Bud and Greg Bartels had a come-from-behind victory in the Presidents Flight. The Hal Sutton designed Hill Country layout provided a picturesque backdrop to showcase the state’s top father/son duos.
After 36 holes the Championship Division was divided into the top 20 teams and ties that would go on to play the final round using combined score.  The remaining 20 teams continued their final rounds using the gross four-ball format.
The Lee duo entered the final round with a one stroke lead over John and Cain Sconiers at 8-under par 134.  With both scores counting in the final round, Randy Lee posted a 6-over par 77 and his son Walker turned in a 5-under par 66 for a total of 1-over par 143. Their two round gross four-ball and combined final round scores gave them a 7-under par 277 for the championship. 
The team of Steve and Brett Gill finished in second place at 3-under par 281. Steve turned in a final round of even par 71 while Brett posted a 2-over par 73. The Sconiers finished the championship at even par 284.
The Presidents Flight saw Bud and Greg Bartels post a final round 6-under par 65 and a three day total of 4-under par 209. Second place in the Presidents Flight at 2-under par 211 was Jeff and Leron Blanks.
Mike and Andy Kampen continued their stellar play with a final round of 6-under par 65 for a three day net total of 18-under par 195 to win the Hogan Flight. They were able to off the Frauenbergers who finished in second at net 15-under par 198. The Nelson Flight saw Jason and Mike Scoggins post a three day total of net 23-under par 190 to win over Steve and Steve II Reid.
The Crenshaw Flight saw a come-from-behind victory for Randy Mattingly and Trey Rowe over Rick and Richmand Houston.  Mattingly/Rowe were able to post a final round net 62 and a three-day of 26-under par 187.
Finally, in the Kite Flight, 2012 champions Bob and Grayson West turned in a final round net 66 and a tournament total of 16-under par 197.  Second place went to Joel and Keith Scully at net 14-under par 199.
