TGA's Addington Elected IAGA President

 
DALLAS—Rob Addington, the Executive Director of the Texas Golf Association (TGA), was elected President of the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA) in early November during the 48th IAGA Annual Meetings  held in Bermuda.
 
“It is an exciting time in our industry, things are being looked at through a new lens,” Addington said. “I look forward to working with the IAGA membership to help shape that vision.”
 
A native Texan, Addington grew up playing Royal Oaks Country Club and Brook Hollow Golf Club in Dallas. He played golf collegiately for the University of Texas at Austin. As Executive Director of the TGA, its Foundation and the Trans-Miss Golf Association, Addington works with the Board of Directors on creating long-term strategy and overseeing the daily operations of these organizations.
 
Under his leadership, the TGA has been recognized by the USGA as the fastest-growing golf association in the country for nine of his 12 years at the helm. In January of 2013, Addington took over as the Executive Director of the 112-year-old Trans-Miss Golf Association with an emphasis on enhancing the association’s championships and scholarship program. Previously, he served as CEO of The Sporting Scene, as Vice President of Marketing for the Southwest Region of the Paragon Real Estate Group and Vice President of Marketing at the Mullen real estate development firm.
 
Active in golf governance, Addington is a USGA committee member and serves on the boards of The Spirit Golf Association, the Texas Golf Hall of Fame and Brook Hollow Golf Club as President in 2014. He holds a BS in Organizational Communications from the University of Texas at Austin.
 
Addington and his father Don, a 2011 Texas Golf Hall of Fame inductee, are two-time World Father-Son Champions (1986 at St Andrews in Scotland; 1987 in Calgary, Canada). The Addingtons also won the TGA Father-Son Champion in 1987. Rob Addington’s family includes wife Rebecca and four children, Chase (26), Lauren (21), Peyton and Katie (9).
 
About the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA)
Originally created in 1968 as a small, informal gathering, the IAGA now includes over 250 golf administrators representing over 3 million golfers. Members are golf administrators of regional amateur golf associations and employees of national and international golf organizations. The IAGA has members from the United States Golf Association, the Royal Canadian Golf Association, Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, the PGA of America, Club Managers Association of America, National Golf Foundation, National Club Association and most of the state and provincial golf associations throughout North America.
