Stacy Dennis Joins TGA Staff as Managing Director of Membership Programs

DALLAS—The Texas Golf Association is excited to announce Stacy Dennis has accepted the position of Managing Director of Membership Programs & TGA Foundation.

One of the most decorated amateur golfers in Texas, Stacy has nearly 20 years of executive management experience in the golf industry. For the past eight years she worked as the General Manager of  Elkins Lake Recreation Corporation in Huntsville. Stacy, 41, first became a general manager at the age of 23 when she took over at her hometown club, Bryan Municipal Golf Course, after her collegiate career concluded at Texas A&M.

She will begin working at the TGA Offices in Dallas on Jan 5.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the TGA,” she said. “I love golf and have spent my career working at clubs and serving golfers. The opportunity to do that on a larger scale and have some input into how the game evolves in Texas is just so exciting.”

Stacy’s name is familiar to all who follow elite amateur golf in Texas. She’s a two-time Women’s State Amateur champion (2004, ’09); she partnered with fellow WTGA veteran Carolyn Creekmore to win the 2009 Women’s State Four Ball Championship and was a semifinalist at the USGA Women’s Mid-Amateur in 2012. Stacy also has represented her region for the past 15 years as a member of the South Team at the annual Texas Cup.

“Golf is something I’m passionate about,” Stacy said. “Other than my personal faith, there’s nothing that means more to me than the game of golf.”

In addition to other responsibilities, Stacy will oversee the TGA’s membership programs and work with the TGA Foundation on several new and exciting initiatives.

“The TGA as an organization has grown and having the ability to add another senior staff member with Stacy’s background will be a wonderful asset to our staff,” TGA executive director Rob Addington said.

Since 1906, the TGA has governed amateur golf in Texas and conducted the state’s most prestigious championships. Working in conjunction with the United States Golf Association and Northern and Southern Sections of the PGA to make the game more enjoyable for all golfers, the TGA provides a number of valuable services, including Amateur Status Reinstatement, Course and Slope Ratings, Educational Seminars, GHIN Handicapping, Junior Golf and Charitable Work through the TGA Foundation.

The TGA recently embarked on its second century of service and continues to adhere to its original purpose: “To promote the playing and advancement of the royal and ancient game of golf in Texas by bringing the clubs and players together.”
