Dowdall and Lance Lead After Opening Round of South Four-Ball

Spring – Defending champions John Dowdall and Randy Lance lead after a first round 7-under par 65 of the South Four-Ball Championship, presented by Club Champion.  Two teams sit two shots off of their pace at 5-under par 67.  Spring’s Willow Creek Golf Club is hosting their first South Regional Series Championship, and the first one of the 2015 TGA season.

Fulshear’s Dowdall and Lance, from The Woodlands, tag-teamed the front nine of Willow Creek GC with 3 birdies to turn at 3-under par 33.  Lance birdied three holes on the back nine, while Dowdall turned in one for a 4-under par 32.  Dowdall finished today with three birdies and Lance with four.

Tied for second place are the teams of Cameron Button / Tim Mitchell and Walker Lee / Kade Stewart two shots behind the first round leaders.  Button / Mitchell turned in 33-34—67 with seven birdies between them while Lee / Stewart posted 34-33—67 with five birdies.

Three teams are tied at 4-under par 68 while five teams are at 3-under par 69.  There are 20 total teams that are under par heading into the final round.

The final round has the makings of an exciting finish and will begin Sunday at 8:00AM off of holes #1 and #10.
