Revised Schedule Of Play For 106th Texas Amateur

The torrential rains from Tropical Storm Bill that moved across Bent Tree Country Club early Wednesday morning has postponed the start of the 106th Texas Amateur Championship presented by Insperity.
Given the amount of water Bent Tree received and the limited amount of time to prepare the golf course appropriately, the TGA Championship Department ruled that this year’s championship would be shortened from 72-holes to 54-holes.

“The forecast is good for the remainder of the week and the course handled the rain very well,” said Cameron Crawford, Tournament Director for the TGA and Official-In-Charge of the Texas Amateur. “Thanks to the tireless work of everyone at Bent Tree, especially Golf Course Superintendent Dan Burkett and his exceptional crew, the course is in great championship condition.”

Wednesday’s severe weather throughout the state impacted the decision to delay the start of the championship. “With so many of the players traveling from all across the state, the decision to have a practice round on Thursday and shorten the championship to 54-holes allows for the best conditions for all contestants,” said Crawford.

Please make note that first and second round starting times and pairings will remain intact, adjusted to Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20. The revised schedule for the 106th Texas Amateur present by Insperity is listed below:
