Presley's 67 Paces the Field in the Morning Wave of Round Two

DALLAS – Andrew Presley made six birdies on his way to a second round 67 during the second round of the 106th Texas Amateur Championship presented by Insperity. After his first round 72 left him six shots behind leader David Lee, Presley’s 4-under par round closes the gap to just two strokes before Lee takes to the course this afternoon.

Michael Cotton and Preston Stanley began the round one shot out of the lead.  Cotton’s up and down round of even par featured five birdies and maintains his position at 5-under par. Stanley continued his pattern of exceptional back nine play, and difficulties on the front nine. Over two days, he is 8-under on the back nine and 3-over on the front.

Other than Presley’s stellar round, Clay Hodge has the only other under par round from the morning group during round two. His 1-under par 70 puts him in a tie for 14th going into afternoon tee times.

Upon completion of this afternoon’s round, the field will be cut to the lowest 54 scores and ties. To follow the action, please click here for live scoring.
