Nelson and Crowther Lead Texas Stableford Handicap Championship

KERRVILLE – Dan Nelson and James Crowther of Plano take the early Overall lead with 13 points over their quota at the 2015 Stableford Championship at Riverhill CC.
 
Nelson and Crowther, who also lead the Hogan Flight, finished with 73 points, 13 over quota. Nelson, of Frisco, carded six birdies and his partner Crowther, of Plano, carded three. They are followed by Rick Hare and Denny Wood of Montgomery, with 65 points, 7 points over their quota.
 
In the Nelson Flight, Patrick Powers and Phillip Powers are the early leaders after putting up a solid 55 point total, 3 over quota. Patrick, of Mansfield, and Phillip, of Dallas, each carded two birdies during their round. They are followed closely by the team of Ken Johnson and Jason Williamson. Johnson and Williamson finished with a score of 52, 2 over quota. 
 
In the Crenshaw Flight, Shawn Mowles and Ray Nichols were the only team to score above their quota, with a 47, 3 points over their quota. The leaders are followed by Jim Rose and Jimmy Holland. The team of Rose and Holland carded a 47, 1 under quota.
 
In the Kite Flight, John Shirley and John Davis carded 27 points, 3 points under quota, to take the lead after Round One. The leaders are followed by the team of Daron Calhoun and Chad Conn contributed. Calhoun and Conn carded a 33, 5 under quota.
 
The second round will continue off of the 1st and 10th tee starting at 8:00am.
