Henderson/Leggett's 63 Leads North Four-Ball Championship

Fort Worth – The team of Henderson and Leggett lead after round one of the North Four-Ball with a blistering 9-under, 63. The Amarillo duo is joined by a crowded leaderboard as thirteen teams sit within 3-strokes of the lead.

Round one of the 2016 North Regional Four-Ball was hosted by Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth, TX. 39 teams began the round for the Texas Golf Association’s first North Regional Championship event of 2016. The conditions proved optimal as 30 of the 39 teams that teed off were under par.

Jeff Henderson and Logan Leggett, of Amarillo, combined to pour in six birdies, two eagles with their lone bogey on the 424 yard, par four, fifth. Leggett posted two contributing eagles on the front, their back nine. With a steady breeze throughout the day, Henderson and Leggett seemed to be content, “We’re from Amarillo; high winds don’t bother us.” That should prove to be an exciting test tomorrow for the field as the winds are expected to be blowing.

One of the teams that sits three back is part of the 2015 North Four-Ball Champions, Michal Ray with his new partner Gant Bills. The pair’s card featured six birdies and no bogies.  

13 in total teams sit within 3-strokes of Henderson and Leggett including four teams within one shot, which make the Final Round on Sunday anyone’s game.
