Lamey and Cunov Lead 2016 Texas Stableford Handicap Championship

Kerrville – John Lamey of San Antonio and Kurt Cunov of Shavano Park take the early lead overall and in the Hogan Flight at the 2016 Texas Stableford Championship at Riverhill Country Club.

Lamey and Cunov finished with 70 points, 9 over their quota. Lamey, of San Antonio, carded 2 birdies and 11 pars, while his partner Cunov, of Shavano Park, carded 4 birdies and 11 pars to lead the Hogan Flight. They are followed closely by Dan Nelson of Frisco and James Crowther of Plano with 67 points, 8 points over their quota.

In the Nelson Flight, Michael Pacillio and Butch Vaut are the early leaders after posting an impressive score of 57 points, 5 over their quota. Michael, of Westlake, recorded 2 birdies, and Butch, of Rowlett, recorded 10 pars during the first round of play, and is the only team to score over their quota in their respected Flight. They are followed by the team of Ken Johnson and Jason Williamson. Johnson and Williamson scored 49 points, 2 under their quota for the round.

In the Crenshaw Flight, Larry and Christopher Garner scored 44 points and matched their quota for the first round. There is a two team tie for second place, Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Beeler, and Korby Keeney and Tony Gann, scored 47 points, and shot 1 under their quota.

The Kite Flight saw Greg and Terry Gilmore take the early lead after scoring 45 points, 5 points over their quota. The leaders are followed by the team of Chad Conn and Daron Calhoun, who carded 37 points and met their quota for the opening round.

The second round will continue tomorrow off the 1st and 10th tee starting at 8:00am.
