Lamey and Cunov Continue to Lead 2016 Texas Stableford Handicap Championship

Kerrville – John Lamey and Kurt Cunov continue to lead the 2016 Texas Stableford Handicap Championship after scoring a total of 9.5 points over their quota after two rounds of play.

Lamey and Cunov, who also lead the Hogan Flight, finished the day with 66 points, .5 over their quota, and 9.5 points over for the tournament. John, from San Antonio, and Kurt, from Shavano Park, combined for 4 birdies and 22 pars. They lead their flight by 4.5 points over the second place team of Clayton Jeffirs and Cory Wells. Jeffirs and Wells scored 70 points, 5 over their quota, to move in to second place with a total of 5 points over their quota for the tournament.

Michael Pacillio and Butch Vaut continue to lead the Nelson Flight after posting a score of 53 points, 1.5 under their quota for the round. Michael Bond and Mark Bing moved in to second place after posting a score of 58, 3.5 under their quota, with .5 points for the tournament. Pacillio and Vaut lead the team of Bond and Bing by 3 points heading in to the final round of play.

In the Crenshaw Flight, Larry and Christopher Garner increased their lead by scoring 48 points, 4 over their quota for the round. They lead the team of Chet Hearn, from Kerrville, and Jesse Pierce, from Spring by 4.5 points heading in to the final round of play. Hearn and Pierce tallied 50 points in their second round, 2.5 over their quota.

In the Kite Flight, Brian and Larry Williford, both from Mansfield, took the lead after posting a score of 41 points to match their quota for the day, and are 4 points under their quota for the tournament. They lead the team of Greg and Terry Gilmore by .5 points heading in to the final round of play.

The Final Round of the 2016 Texas Stableford Handicap Championship will begin Sunday at Riverhill Country Club at 8:00am off the 1st and 10th tee. Lamey and Cunov will try to maintain their lead and go wire-to-wire for the championship at 9:40am off the 1st tee.
