Womens Eclectic Heads to the Onion Creek Club

Women’s Eclectic Heads to the Onion Creek Club

Austin, TX: The Women’s Eclectic is a two day competition in which each player takes her better score for each hole over two rounds to get her Eclectic 18-hole total score.  The tournament will be held at the Onion Creek Club in Austin on March 12th and 13th with an optional practice round beginning at 11:00 AM on March 10th or 11th.

In 2017, the Women’s Eclectic was contested at Walden on Lake Conroe in Montgomery.  There, Caitlyn Cassity, of Katy, was the Overall Gross Champion with a gross total of 4-under par, which was two better than Heath’s Jewell Malick.  Cassity bettered her first round score by six strokes to claim the title.  She’ll be playing in the tournament again this year and is looking to retain her title to win her second straight Women’s Eclectic Championship.  Onion Creek Club, designed by Jimmy Demaret, will test players’ mental and physical skills with the challenging and hazard-lined layout.

The Women’s Eclectic also features an Overall Net Champion, which was won in 2017 by Tani Traver, of Montgomery. Traver had a two-day net total of 11-under par.  Like Cassity, Tani bettered her score from the first round by six strokes, which was enough to eclipse Jennifer LaBlanc, of Magnolia, by one.

Both tournament rounds will be shotgun starts beginning at 9:00 AM with a player lunch at the conclusion play each day.  An awards ceremony will begin immediately following the second round.  For more information regarding the 2018 Women’s Eclectic, please visit www.txga.org
