John Semander Family Scholarship

The scholarship was created to honor John Semander, a long-time TGA volunteer and Past Director who has given his time, energy, and resources to promote golf in Texas for many years. His contributions to the game of golf have benefited countless players. Mr. Semander’s dedication, character, and lifelong connection to golf are attributes that the John Semander Scholarship Program endeavors to honor and encourage in the next generation of golfers.
 
The program was developed to financially assist golfers who are seeking higher education. The John Semander Scholarship recipients not only exemplify academic expertise, but also a strong connection to the game of golf. The value of the award is $5,000 and is distributed to a new recipient each year.
