Will Adams Wins North Amateur in Playoff

PLANO – There was extra golf played Sunday afternoon to determine the champion of the 2019 North Amateur.  It took not one, but two playoff holes for Odessa’s Will Adams to capture the victory on the par-5 18th at The Courses at Watters Creek.

“I was thinking ‘Don’t hit it in the water,’” Adams said as he approached the tee for the second playoff. “I had hit it in the water twice and blew it right and tried to make birdie from there.”

Adams two-stroke lead coming into the final round was slim throughout the day, but he kept composure in the end, carding a 1-under-par 71 on the day, finishing with an 8-under 208 overall.

“I tried not to beat myself this week,” Adams said. “I didn’t let my emotions get the best of me and looked ahead to every next shot.”
