Golf Course: Known as one of Texas’ best public courses, Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort embodies the true nature of the Hill Country region.  Redesigned in 2015 by renowned golf course architect Tripp Davis, the championship course features 18 holes at 6,477 yards tucked into beautiful rugged hills, surrounded by Texas live oak trees, native grasses and a small lake placed in the heart of the course.  Along with these renovations, a beautifully rebuilt clubhouse rose from the ashes after a 2017 fire completely destroyed the beloved old clubhouse.  The Women’s Pinehurst first round played at around 5,311 yards Monday.

Weather: It was a mild and overcast autumn day in Boerne with temperatures reaching a high of 63 degrees, but dipping to a low 47 degrees towards the end of the round.  There was a consistent north wind at 3 mph.

In Contention:  Meg Christensen of Austin and teammate Carol Turnage of Anna earned the second place spot Monday shooting a 3-over 75.  Christensen and Carol will be in the final round pairing with their first round pairing of Schultz and Malick.

Following close behind are teammates Cynthia Dougherty of Corpus Christi and Jennifer Hoyt of Horseshoe Bay.  On the back of two combined birdies and ten par-saves, the duo carded a 5-over 77 on the day.

What’s Next: Due to a sharp change in weather Monday night, the final round shotgun will start Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort.
