Entry & Eligibility Information

Tournament Eligibility: The Girls Match Play Championship is an exemption-based tournament for girls that are high school graduates of 2021 or later. Players earn exemptions into the field by playing in various Texas Junior Golf Alliance events or qualifying through the Player of the Year Standings. Entry Procedure: Players that earn exemptions into the field will be reached out to by the Legends Junior Tour to secure their spot in the field. Only players with exemptions that qualify for the tournament will be able to compete in the field.

Championship Information

Field Limit: 16 Players
Tournament Fee: $0

Format: The championship is scheduled for single-elimination match play with the winners advancing to the next round until the champion is crowned on Sunday, September 6. The bracket will be set by a random drawing on Thursday, September 3.

Practice Round Information: Players may contact the club beginning Thursday, August 27 to schedule a practice round with the club. Practice rounds are $50 and are from 2:30 pm until 3:10 pm on Thursday, September 3.

Registration Information: Players may pick up their tee gifts and registration packet before their practice rounds on Thursday, September 3.

Starting Times: Starting times for the Round of 16 matches will be sent out on Thursday, September 3. Players that win their match will proceed to the next round of matches.

Cancellation/Withdrawal Policy: The cancellation deadline is 10 days prior to the tournament start date. For refund details, please check LJT Championship Policies.

Caddies: Players will be permitted a caddie for the championship and anyone will be eligible to caddie. The player is responsible for supplying their own caddie for the championship and the caddie must abide by all club and LJT Policies.

Transportation: Players and caddies will be required to walk during the competition, unless acting under the discretion of an LJT rules official. Non-motorized push/pull carts will be permitted during the championship. Spectator carts will not be permitted for the championship. Should you need a handicap cart, please email Kevin Porter ([email protected]). You will need a valid handicap placard to get a cart during tournament rounds.

Lunch: Food will be provided for all players and caddies during the championship. Lunch will be available at the club during the windows on the schedule of events.

Rules of Golf

The championship will be contested under the 2019 Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association and R&A, its interpretations and clarifications, 2020 Legends Junior Tour Local Rules and Terms of Competition and any local rules given to the player on their first tee.
