Texas Stableford Handicap Set for Nov. 20-22

The 2020 Texas Stableford Handicap will be played Nov. 20-22 at longtime host Riverhill Country Club in Kerrville. This year’s championship was originally slated for mid-summer but was rescheduled due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Conducted by the Texas Golf Association since 1976, the championship will be contested over 54 holes using team quotas based on the Modified Stableford scoring format.

Teams are pre-flighted based on the two players’ combined Low Handicap Index over the past 11 months. Total score for 54 holes will be used to determine final standings in each flight. The overall winner will be the team with the most plus (or fewest minus) points, regardless of flight.

Opened for play in 1974, Riverhill Country Club was designed by Byron Nelson and Joe Finger. Nestled deep in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Riverhill has consistently received high marks for its playability, scenic beauty and relaxed atmosphere. For this year’s championship, the course will play approximately 6,500 yards with a par of 72.

Daron Calhoun of The Woodlands and Chad Conn of Mansfield accumulated 13.25 total points over three days to win the Overall Division at the 2019 Texas Stableford Handicap at Riverhill CC. Joey Hall and Danny Meyer, both of Katy, finished in second place with 9.75 points.
