Alamo Shootout Set for Dec. 11-12

KERRVILLE – The Alamo Shootout will be played at Riverhill Country Club from Dec. 11-12.

In its seventh playing, the only Legends Junior Tour championship played in the San Antonio area returned to the schedule in 2017 after a brief pause from 2012-2016.

“The Legends Junior Tour really benefits from having great junior golfers in every corner of the state and we’re excited to have our players at one of the best courses in the hill country,” LJT Tournament Director Adam Schulte said. “Riverhill Country Club will be a challenge for our players, and the Alamo Shootout has touted a strong field each year since it first started.”

Last year, Daniel Moon of Temple carded a final round 3-over 75 at River Crossing Club. The now 17 year old posted 1-under for the championship to capture the Boys Division by three strokes. In the Girls Division, Houston’s Avery Thompson clinched the victory over Grace Jin of San Antonio.

The 2021 field includes some of the top LJT players and will be divided into a Boys and Girls Division. Scheduled for 36-holes of individual stroke play, the 84-player field will look to earn exemptions into 2022 LJT championships.

“The LJT is excited to conclude another fantastic year of competitive golf at a great venue like Riverhill,” said Schulte. “We look forward to crowing our last champions of the year at the Alamo Shootout and are excited for a fun 2022 schedule.”

Riverhill Country Club will play host to the Alamo Shootout for the first time.  The 18-hole championship golf course was designed by architect Joe Finger. The hill country course is consistently rated as one of the top courses in Texas and provides one of the most beautiful layouts.
