Entry & Eligibility Information

Entries Open: June 13, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.
Entries Close: July 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
Withdraw Date: July 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Entry Fee: $480 per team

Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur golfers with a certified WHS Handicap index. Please reference TGA Women’s Competition Policies for further details, including policies and procedures, and terms of competition.

Entry Procedure: In the event the championship becomes over-subscribed, acceptance of entries will be based on the lowest combined team WHS Handicap Index on July 27, 2022. The maximum spread of partners’ index is 8.0.

Championship Information

Player Field: The field is limited to 50 teams (100 players).

Format: 36-holes of four-ball stroke Play. Two competitors play as partners, each playing her own ball. The lowest score of the partners is the score for the hole. The ten (10) teams with the lowest combined handicap indexes at the Women’s Four-Ball Championship will be required to play from the championship tees. All other teams will have a choice to play in the championship flight, playing the championship tees. Those who do not wish to play in the championship flight will be pre-flighted based on their combined handicap indexes. The maximum spread of partners’ index of 8.0 will be used for the purpose of creating flights and scoring.

The deadline for teams to change their division is Monday, August 1 at 5:00 p.m.

What’s Included: The entry fee includes greens, carts, and range fees for the practice round and all championship rounds. The entry fee also includes a championship gift, and lunch after all championship rounds.

Hotel Information: There is no host hotel for the Women’s Four-Ball Championship. TGA Members can take advantage of Affinity Travel Benefits by utilizing their hotel search engine by clicking here.

Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round at Riverbend Country Club on Sunday, August 7. Players must contact the host club golf shop and identify themselves as 2022 Women’s Four-Ball Championship players to schedule a practice round.

Pairings Information: Starting times and pairings for the first round will be made available online at www.txga.org no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5. Final round starting times and pairings will be made available online following the conclusion of first round play.

Prizes/Awards: Merchandise gift certificates redeemable at the host club golf shop will be awarded to the overall gross champions and the top two gross champions in each of the five (5) flights.

P.O.Y. Points: State Player of the Year points will be awarded to the top finishers.

Policies & Procedures

To ensure that competitors have the best possible experience when competing in the championship, it is helpful to be knowledgeable of Texas Golf Association (TGA) Policies and Procedures, Terms of Competition and Local Rules (Hard Card), as established by the association. Caddies: Caddies are not permitted during the championship.

Transportation: Players are encouraged to ride carts during all championship rounds. Cart fees for all championship rounds are included in the entry fee. Carts are limited to two (2) riders at one time and two (2) carts per group. Players MUST share. Riding on the back of golf carts is prohibited.

Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are allowed for this championship.

USGA Groove Condition of Competition (Condition NOT in Effect): The USGA Groove Rules effective January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect for this competition.

TGA Medical Cart Request Policy

Spectator carts are prohibited. However, spectators in accordance with ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season. A request will not be deemed complete until all required information and documentation has been provided.
