Entry & Eligibility Information

Entries Open: April 25, 2022 at 9:00 AM
Entries Close: June 8, 2022 at 5:00 PM
Withdraw Date: June 8, 2022 at 5:00 PM

Entry Fee: $300 per player

Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur golfers with a certified WHS Handicap Index. Please reference TGA Women’s Competition Policies for further details, including policies and procedures, and terms of competition.

Entry Procedure: In the event the championship becomes over-subscribed, entries will be accepted in order of handicap index based upon the June 8 World Handicap System Revision and added into the field after the registration close date of Wednesday, June 8. Two (2) playing spots have been set aside in the field as host club exemptions.

Championship Information

Field Size: The field is limited to 84 players.

Format: 54-hole Stroke Play. The top-30 players with the lowest handicap index must play in the championship flight. All other players will have a choice to play in the championship flight, playing from the championship tees. Those players who do not wish to play in the championship flight will be flighted into additional flights after 36-holes and will play a separate set of tees.

The deadline to change your division is Monday, June 13 at 5:00 PM.

e. Top two (2) Finishers (and ties) in previous year’s Women’s Senior Stroke Play Championship;

  • Mina Hardin
  • Anna Morales

f. Previous year’s TGA Women’s Player of the Year;

  • Emma McMyler

g. Previous year’s TGA Women’s Senior Player of the Year;

  • Mina Hardin

h. Two (2) Host Club Exemptions.

The TGA reserves the right to select players to be in the field. Exempt players must enter by the published deadline or they will lose their exempt status and spot in the final field. In the event a player meets multiple criteria, their exemption will not be given to the next closest position.

What’s Included: The entry fee includes greens, cart, and range fees for the practice round and all championship rounds. The entry fee will also include lunch after each round and a tournament gift.

Hotel Information: There is no host hotel for the Women’s Stroke Play Championship. TGA members can take advantage of Affinity Travel Benefits by utilizing their hotel search engine by clicking here.

Registration Information: Player registration will be held on Thursday, June 23 between 12:00 PM and 3:30 PM. If a player cannot make registration, she must notify a TGA official at the host club that she is unable to make the registration deadline but will be competing in the championship.

Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round at The Traditions Club at Texas A&M on Thursday, June 23. Players may contact the host golf shop at (979) 779-1007 beginning June 9 and identify themselves as 2022 Women’s Stroke Play Championship players to schedule a practice round.

Pairings Information: Starting times and pairings for the first round will be made available online at www.txga.org no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, June 17. Second and final pairings will be available online in the evening following play.

Prizes/Awards: The winner of the Championship Flight will be presented with a 2022 Women’s Stroke Play Championship trophy. A trophy will also be awarded to the low Mid-Amateur of each division. Merchandise gift certificates redeemable at the host club golf shop will be awarded in all flights.

P.O.Y. Points: State Player of the Year points will be awarded to the top finishers.

Policies & Procedures

To ensure that competitors have the best possible experience when competing in the championship, it is helpful to be knowledgeable of Texas Golf Association (TGA) Policies and Procedures, Terms of Competition and Local Rules (Hard Card), as established by the association. Score Posting: At the conclusion of each round each player’s score will be automatically posted to the World Handicap System. Please do not enter your own scores from the competitive rounds, as this will result in a double post.

Caddies: Caddies are permitted during the championship.

One Seat Policy: When riding in a golf cart, there may not be more than two (2) riders per cart at any time. The player can ride in or move a golf cart with another player’s caddie in it, so long as the player whose caddie is in the cart is not riding in another cart at the same time. As a reminder, players are responsible for the actions of their caddie. Continued intentional disregard for the policy may result in disqualification. Riders may NOT ride on the back of a golf cart, or on the dashboard of the golf cart. All riders must be seated on the golf cart seat.

Transportation: Players are encouraged to ride carts during all championship rounds. Cart fees for all championship rounds are included in the entry fee. Carts are limited to two (2) riders at one time and two (2) carts per group. Players must share. Riding on the back of golf carts is prohibited.

Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are allowed for this championship.

TGA Medical Cart Request Policy

Spectators carts are prohibited. However, spectators in accordance of ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season.
