Women’s Eclectic Set for March 14-15

DALLAS – The Women’s Eclectic will be the first event of the year for the women and is set to be played at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco. Since the start of the tournament in 2009, it has proved to be one of the most popular events on the calendar for the women.

“The TGA is excited to start the 2022 women’s schedule with the Eclectic,” Tournament Coordinator Katie O’Connell said. “We are excited to bring our players to a fantastic club like Vaaler Creek to begin the season.”

Vaaler Creek Golf Club was designed by Michael Lowry and named as #19 in the country on Golfweek’s “Best New Courses” list in 2011. The course possesses well-placed bunkers and water-features to provide a testful yet relaxing round of golf. It also features spectacular panoramic views of the Texas Hill Country, an enrichment of live oaks, and a rolling terrain. Vaaler Creek opened its’ back nine in July 2007, and the front nine was opened two years later in July 2009. The greens are MiniVerde grass while the rest of the course features Bermuda 419 and Tif Sport grasses.

The 112-player field will play a 2-day 36-hole individual Eclectic. Each player will take her better hole score over the two days. Gross and net winners will be awarded.

This year’s Women’s Eclectic boasts another strong field and figures to be highly competitive once again.

“The Eclectic typically showcases a strong field because players are eager to get on the course for the first event of the year,” O’Connell said. “We’re looking forward to kicking off the 2022 season at the Eclectic in what should be a great year ahead.”

Last year, Anna Morales of Austin was crowned the Overall Gross Champion after finishing 3-under for the event and winning in a playoff over Olive Henry of Ennis. Patricia Walters finished at 11-under total to par net to earn Overall Net Champion honors.

Round one tees off Monday, Mar. 14. The final round takes place on Tuesday, Mar. 15. For more information on the Women’s Eclectic, click here.
