Prucka & Wilson Maintain Lead of Texas Stableford Handicap

KERRVILLE – Lee Prucka of Midland and Gary Wilson of Odessa maintain their lead after the second round of play at the 2022 Texas Stableford Handicap at Riverhill Country Club. Prucka and Wilson carded 64 points, one and a half points under their second-round quota and a total of four over their total quota.

Combined, the duo holed four birdies and nineteen pars. Their two round total is enough for an eight-and-a-half point lead overall, and a nine-point lead in the Nelson flight, going into the final round.

Golf Course: Designed by close friends Joe Finger and Byron Nelson in 1974, Riverhill Country Club’s 18-hole course is a premier location for golf in Texas and the United States. Based in the heart of Hill Country, the course boasts its rare bent-grass greens and a 7,137 yard, 72-par challenge featuring scenic creeks, hills, and a lake throughout the property. Over time, the course became Nelson’s favorite, where he was quoted saying, “If I had only one golf course to play, it would be Riverhill.”

Weather: Sunny, high of 56 degrees with a northerly wind averaging 13 mph.

In Contention: In the Hogan flight, Mark Jones and Luke Groves of Odessa fired a one over quota second round to give them a four-point lead within the flight. The duo’s two-day total is five under quota. They sit in second place overall, eight and a half points off the lead.

In the Crenshaw flight, Richard LaPierre and William Pritchard of Farmers Branch climbed to a flight lead and sit at eleven points under their cumulative quota. They lead the flight by three-and-a-half points. The duo currently sits tied for second in the overall division.

In the Kite flight, Joshua Arterbury and Daron Calhoun of The Woodlands jumped into the lead with a one over quota second round and sit at thirteen points under their cumulative quota. They lead the flight by three points.

What’s Next: Final Round tee times begin Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. off No. 1 & 10 tees at Riverhill Country Club.
