Entry & Eligibility Information

Entries Open: July 26, 2023 at 9:00 AM
Entries Close: September 6, 2023 at 5:00 PM
Withdraw Date: September 6, 2023 at 5:00 PM

Entry Fee: $240 per player

Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur golfers who are 50 years of age or older by the first round with a certified WHS Handicap Index. Please reference TGA Women’s Competition Policies for further details, including policies and procedures, and terms of competition.

Entry Procedure: In the event the championship becomes over-subscribed, entries will be accepted in order of handicap index based upon the September 6, 2023 World Handicap System Revision.

Championship Information

Format/Field Size: Play will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play. At the completion of Round 2, the field will be flighted based on 36 hole scores. The field is limited to 96 players.

Divisions: The field will be split up in two divisions, each will play from different tees/yardage; the Championship Tees and the Flights Tees. The 16 players with the lowest handicap indexes will be required to play from the Championship Tees (approx. 5500-5700 yards). All other players may select which tees they wish to play from – the Championship Tees or the Flights Tees (approx. 5100-5300 yards).

The deadline to change division is Wednesday, September 13 at 5:00 PM.

What’s Included: The entry fee includes greens fees, cart fees, and range fees for the practice round and all championship rounds. The entry fee will also include a championship tee gift and lunch after the first and final round.

Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round at Bentwood Country Club on Sunday, September 17. Players must identify themselves as 2023 Women’s Senior Stroke Play player to schedule a practice round.

Registration Information: Player registration will be held on Sunday, September 17 between 12:00 PM and 3:30 PM. If a player cannot make registration, she must notify a TGA official that she is unable to make the registration deadline but will be competing in the championship.

Starting Times/Pairings Information: Starting Times/Pairings for the first round will be made available online at www.txga.org no later than Friday, September 15 by 5:00 PM. Final round starting time/pairings will be available in the evening preceding play (approximately one hour after the completion of play) online at www.txga.org.

Prizes/Awards: Merchandise gift certificates redeemable at the host club golf shop will be awarded within each flight. The Overall Senior Champion will be awarded from the Championship Tees. A Super Senior Champion (65-69 as of the tournament start date) will be awarded from the Championship Tees and the Flights Tees. The Legends Champion (70 or older as of the tournament start date) will be awarded from the Flights Tees. The Founders Cup is awarded to the club whose two players had the lowest combined net score in first round.

Caddies: Caddies are permitted and must adhere to all TGA Competition Policies and host club policies.

TGA ‘One-Seat Policy: When riding in a golf cart, there may not be more than two (2) riders per cart at any time. The player can ride in or move a golf cart with another player’s caddie in it, so long as the player whose caddie is in the cart is not riding in another cart at the same time. As a reminder, players are responsible for the actions of their caddie. Continued intentional disregard for the policy may result in disqualification. Riders may NOT ride on the back of a golf cart, or on the dashboard of the golf cart. All riders must be seated on the golf cart seat.

Cancellation/Withdrawal Procedure: Prior to the entry deadline players looking to withdraw should do so online through their Golf Genius user profile or by contacting the TGA Staff Contact directly. After the entry deadline has passed players should either call the Texas Golf Association at (214) 468-8942 or email the TGA Staff Contact directly. Only withdrawals on the day of the competition should be directed to the host club golf shop.

Transportation:  Players may walk or ride at their own discretion. Cart fees are included in the players entry fee. The TGA ‘One-Seat’ Policy is in effect. Spectators must walk at all times.

Medical Cart: Spectators in accordance with ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season.
