Entry & Eligibility Information
Entries Open: September 13, 2023 at 9:00 AM
Entries Close: October 25, 2023 at 5:00 PM
Withdraw Date: October 25, 2023 at 5:00 PM
Entry Fee: $480 per team
Entry Procedure: Entries are accepted in order of entry except if the event is oversubscribed in the first 24 hours. In this case, the field will be filled by blind draw from the entries returned during the first 24 hours. Any player not drawn will be placed on the waiting list in blind draw order. All subsequent entries will be placed on the waiting list in order of entry.
Championship Information
Field Size: The field is limited to 50 teams (100 players).
Format: Play will be contested over 36 holes of Chapman Stroke Play (also known as Pinehurst format). Two players play as partners, each playing from the teeing ground and each playing her partner’s ball for the second shot. After the second shot, partners select the ball with which they wish to score and play the ball alternately to complete the hole. The field will be preflighted by combined handicap index.
What’s Included: The entry fee includes greens, cart, and range fees for the practice round and all championship rounds. The entry fee will also include lunch after the first round and an awards lunch after the final round.
Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round at Sterling Country Club on Sunday, November 5. Players must contact the host club golf shop and identify themselves as 2023 Women’s Texas Pinehurst players to schedule a practice round.
Registration Information: Player registration will be held on Sunday, November 5 between 12:00 and 3:30 PM. If a player cannot make registration, she must notify a TGA official that she is unable to make the registration deadline but will be competing in the championship.
Starting Times/Pairings Information: Starting Times/Pairings for the first round will be made available online at www.txga.org no later than Friday, November 3 by 5:00 PM. Final round starting time/pairings will be available in the evening preceding play (approximately one hour after the completion of play) online at www.txga.org.
Prizes/Awards: Merchandise gift certificates redeemable at the host club golf shop will be awarded within each flight. Overall gross and overall net champions will be awarded.
Player of the Year Points: Statewide and Senior Player of the Year points will be awarded to the top finishers.
Caddies: Caddies are not permitted during the championship.
Cancellation/Withdrawal Procedure: Prior to the entry deadline players looking to withdraw should do so online through their Golf Genius user profile or by contacting the TGA Staff Contact directly. After the entry deadline has passed players should either call the Texas Golf Association at (214) 468-8942 or email the TGA Staff Contact directly. Only withdrawals on the day of the competition should be directed to the host club golf shop.
Transportation: Players are encouraged to ride carts during all championship rounds. Cart fees for all championship rounds are included in the entry fee. Carts are limited to two (2) riders at one time and two (2) carts per group. Players must share. Riding on the back of golf carts is prohibited.
Medical Cart: Spectators in accordance with ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season.
