Eligibility: Entries are open to male amateur golfers with a GHIN Handicap Index of 8.4 or less and who meet the requirements of the TGA Public Links Eligibility.  Players may not have held privileges of any course which does not extend playing privileges to the general public, or privileges of any private club maintaining its own course as of January 1st of the current year.  Applicants must be a male member of a course which currently belongs to the Texas Golf Association. Applicants must be a current resident of the state of Texas.  Please reference TGA Policies and Procedures for further details. 
Format/Field Size: Scheduled for 18 holes of stroke play qualifying on Thursday.  The low 32 players advance to match play beginning on Friday.  Round of 32 and 16 played on Friday, Quarter and Semi-final matches played on Saturday, and Final match on Sunday morning.  The field is limited to 90 players.

Exemptions: Provided players are otherwise eligible, exemptions are given to the following:  players reaching the quarter finals of the previous year’s Texas Public Links Championship; and any player who qualified for the previous year’s USGA Public Links Championship.  The TGA reserves the right to select players to be in the field.

Earned Exemptions:  Provided players are otherwise eligible for the event the following exemptions are earned:  Champion and runner up are exempt into the current year's Texas Amateur; Players reaching the quarter finals in the Texas Public Links are exempt into the next year’s Texas Public Links.
What's Included:  The entry fee includes greens, cart, and range fees for all championship rounds (excluding the practice round).  The entry fee also includes a championship gift, and lunch during the match play days.

Practice Round Information:   Players are responsible for the practice round green fee and will pay the host club directly.  The practice round green fee is $40 including cart.  Please contact the host club golf shop to arrange a practice round.  Players are limited to one practice round at the discounted rate. 

Registration Information:
  Player registration will be held on Wednesday, May 28th between 8:00am and 5:00pm.  If a player cannot make registration, he must notify a TGA official at the host club that he is unable to make the registration deadline, but will be competing in the championship.  Those players not contacting a TGA official by 5:00pm are subject to forfeiting their playing position.

Pairings/Tee Time Information:  Tee times / pairings for the qualifying round will be posted on the TGA website on Monday, May 26th. Qualifying round tee times will be off #1 and #10 tees starting at 7:30AM.  A complete match play bracket and tee times will be available after the completion of the qualifying round. 

  Players may walk or ride at their discretion.  Cart fees for all championship rounds are included in the entry fee.  Carts are limited to two (2) riders at a time and two (2) carts per group. Push/Pull carts are not allowed.
Prizes/Awards:  TGA Championship money clip will be presented to the winner.  Merchandise Gift Certificates redeemable at the host club golf shop will be awarded to the top finishers.

Caddies are permitted during the championship.  Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie for the competition.  Caddies must abide by the host facility dress code.

POY Points:  State Player of the Year points will be awarded to the top finishers..

Electronic Measuring Devices:  Electronic devices that measure distance only are allowed for this championship.

USGA Groove Condition of Competition (Not in Effect): The USGA groove rules effective January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect for this competition. 

Score Posting:  At the conclusion of the championship each players score will be automatically posted as a "T” or tournament score to the GHIN handicap system.  Please do not enter your own scores from the competitive rounds, as this will result in a double post.
