Terry Dukes - Breaking 100 Campaign Leader

Terry Dukes came to golf relatively late in life.  She was an accomplished basketball player and rodeo competitor before an injury pointed her toward golf.  She learned to play on a 9-hole course in Snyder, Texas with a set of Nancy Lopez clubs she bought at K-Mart.  She quickly realized that she was “hooked” and spent the next twenty years fine tuning her skills.
Since she started playing competitively, Terry has played in “more state, regional and national championships than I can count”.  And she just keeps getting better.  In 2015, she qualified for the Texas Cup matches and played for the team representing South Texas.

Terry is one of five players who will play 100 Holes of Women’s Competition on behalf of the Breaking 100 campaign in 2016.  Sh has completed the first 36 holes of her goal by claiming the 1st Place Net in her flight at the 2016 Women's Eclectic (pictured below).  Click here to learn more about Terry and keep up with her progress.  All of the funds raised through the campaign are contributed to the TGA Foundation’s Women’s Initiatives and directly support programs that increase opportunities for women and girls.

100 Texas Women is a blog with each post featuring a different notable woman from the history of Texas golf.  You can honor these women and invest in the next 100 years of women's golf by contributing to the Breaking 100 campaign.  All proceeds benefit the TGA Foundations' Women's Initiatives.  Learn more and support the campaign here.
