Zeringue & Stoute Win South Four-Ball

Briefly: Toby Zeringue and Shawn Stoute continued their stellar play after an opening round 11-under par 61 with a 5-under par 67 to with the South Four-Ball.  The duo played steady golf throughout the weekend and finished the final round with three birdies and a closing eagle on the 18th hole to post 16-under par for the two days. Josh Ketter and Bryan Mitchell finished in solo second place with a two-day total of 12-under par 132.

Golf Course: The Clubs of Kingwood is located in Kingwood, just northeast of downtown Houston. The facilities feature four 18-hole courses. This weekend’s championship is being played on the Bruce Litell designed Lake Course.
 
Weather: The final round was played under cloudy skies and a steady wind of 10mph out of the southeast. The high for Kingwood was 68 degrees.
 
In Contention: Josh Ketter and Bryan Mitchell broke out of their tie for second after round one with a final round second consecutive 6-under 66 to finish one stroke ahead of Luke Antonelli/Braden Graham and Robert Mills/Matt Williams who finished in a tie for third place. Todd Albert/Kevin Liberto, paired in the final group with the winners, finished in solo fifth place for the tournament.
 
What’s Next: The South Regional Series will continue with the South Mid-Amateur at Westwood Golf Club in Houston on March 27 – 29.
