Crowther and Nelson Win 2017 Texas Stableford Handicap Championship
 
Kerrville,TX –  James Crowther and Dan Nelson overtake the lead on the final day to claim the 2017 Texas Stableford Handicap Championship by six points at Riverhill Country Club.
 
Crowther and Nelson, who also won the Hogan Flight, finished the day with 68 points, 3.75 over quota for the final round and 16.5 over quota for the Championship. The duo held onto the Hogan Flight lead after a convincing 9.5 points over quota on day two, putting themselves in prime position for a go at the Overall Championship.
 
Ken Johnson, of Austin, and Jason Williamson, of Round Rock, claim the Nelson Flight with a final total of 10.5 points over their quota. Alan Culberson and Jerry Culberson finished second with a final round score of 51 points, 8 under quota on the day and 8 over quota for the tournament.
 
Kerry Culberson and Keith Wenske came from behind to win the Crenshaw Flight with a final total of 12 points over quota.  Culberson and Wenske carded and impressive 53 points, 6 over their quota on the final round. Ken Kinsey and Mark Moore finished in second with a final total of 7.25 over quota.
 
Keith Behrens and Daron Calhoun held onto their 36-Hole lead to take the Kite Flight. Behrens and Calhoun carded 37 points on the day, 5.75 under quota, to finish with 1.75 over their quota for the tournament.
 
The Texas Golf Association would like to thank the entire staff and membership from Riverhill Country Club for their contributions this weekend. The 2018 Stableford Handicap Championship will once again be held at Riverhill Country Club.

Culberson and Weathersby Maintain Lead at Texas Stableford Handicap

Culberson and Weathersby Maintain Lead at 2017 Texas Stableford Handicap Championship
 
Kerrville, TX – Alan Culberson and Jerry Weathersby held onto the overall lead with 16 points over their quota after round two of the Texas Stableford Handicap Championship at Riverhill Country Club.
 
Culberson and Weathersby, who also lead the Nelson Flight, finished the day with 61 points, 16 points over their quota for the tournament. Alan and Jerry combined for four birdies and 19 pars. They lead their flight by five points over Ken Johnson and Jason Williamson. Johnson and Williamson sit just outside the lead at third overall for the championship. 
 
James Crowther and Dan Nelson are second overall with a round two total of 69 points, 12.5 points over their quota for the tournament. James, of Plano, and Dan, of Frisco, combined for four birdies and 25 pars. Crowther and Nelson lead the Hogan Flight by 9.5 points over the teams of Don Cole and Ruben Sanchez, and Richard Hare and Denny Wood.
 
In the Crenshaw Flight, Ken Kinsey and Mark Moore carded a total of 54 points in round two to go eight and a half points over their quota for the tournament. Kinsey and Moore lead the team of Kerry Culberson and Keith Wenske by two and a half points. 
 
Keith Behrens and Daron Calhoun lead the Kite Flight after scoring 45 points, four and a half over their quota for the day, to climb to a total of seven and a half points over their quota after two rounds. Behrens and Calhoun are followed by the team of Cody Davis and Jeremy Stover.
 
The final round of the Texas Stableford Handicap Championship will begin Sunday off the 1st and 10th tee at 7:30am. Following completion of round 3, awards ceremony will be held to present trophies for each flight winner and the overall champion. For Round 3 pairings, click here.

Culberson and Weathersby Lead 2017 Texas Stableford Handicap Championship
 
Kerrville, TX – Alan Culberson of Victoria and Jerry Weathersby of Montgomery take the early lead overall and in the Nelson Flight at the Texas Stableford Handicap Championship at Riverhill Country Club.
 
Culberson and Weathersby finished with 63 points in the opening round, 12 points over their quota. Culberson had 2 birdies and 10 pars, while his partner Weathersby carded 4 birdies and 6 pars to lead the Nelson Flight.  They are followed closely by Ken Johnson and Jason Williamson with 55 points, 8 points over their quota.
 
Michael Bing and Mark Bond finished with a respectful 64 points, 8 over their quota. Bing carded 3 birdies and 12 pars, while his partner Bond recorded 2 birdies and 9 pars to grab the lead in the Hogan Flight. The team of Bing and Bond are followed closely by Richard Hare and Denny Wood who scored 65 points, 7 points over their quota for the first round.
 
In the Crenshaw Flight, Keith Culberson and Keith Wenske carded 48 points, 4 points over their quota. There is a two team tie for second place, Ken Kinsey and Mark Moore, and Paul Urban and Jerry Wilson, scored 47 and 46 points respectively, 1 point over their quotas.
 
Out of the Kite Flight, two teams are tied for the lead after the opening round. Ron Rankey and Bobby Tutor scored 44 points, 3 points over their quota, while Keith Behrens and Daron Calhoun totaled 42 points, 3 points over their quota.

Lamey and Cunov Go Wire-to-Wire to Win 2016 Texas Stableford Handicap Championship

Kerrville – John Lamey and Kurt Cunov go wire-to-wire to claim the 2016 Texas Stableford Championship by 5.25 points at Riverhill Country Club in Kerrville.
 
Lamey, of San Antonio, and Cunov, of Shavano Park, who also won the Hogan Flight, scored 67 points, 1.25 over their quota, and 10.75 over for the tournament. For the third consecutive round, the team scored over their quota and was able to fend off the second place team of Clayton Jeffirs and Cory Wells. Jeffirs and Wells scored 68 points, .5 over their quota, and managed to take second place honors after 54 holes of play.
 
Michael Pacillio, of Westlake, and Butch Vaut, of Rowlett, continued their solid play and claimed first place in the Nelson Flight. The team of Pacillio and Vaut Scored 58 points, 4.25 over their quota, and 7.75 for the tournament. Keith Wenske and Kerry Culberson scored a blistering 54 points, 10.25 over their quota, and fought their way in to second place for the tournament with an overall score of 2.25 under their quota.
 
Chris and Larry Garner scored 40 points, 6 under their quota, and made just enough putts to win the Crenshaw Flight with a final tournament score of 2 under their quota. Jimmy Holland and Jim Rose gave the Garner’s a scare with a final round score of 45 points, 3.75 over their quota, and 3.75 under their quota for the tournament.
 
The Kite Flight was a nail biter. Chad Conn and Daron Calhoun came from behind to win the Kite Flight with a final round score of 34, .5 under their quota, and 5.5 under their quota for the tournament. They beat out the second place team of David Henderson and Frank Schwarz by .25 points. Henderson and Schwars scored 35 points, 3.75 over their quota, and 5.75 points under their quota for the tournament.
