Women’s Eclectic Set for March 13-14
ADDISON – The 2023 Women’s TGA schedule begins with the Women’s Eclectic event on March 13-14 at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth. Since the start of the tournament in 2009, it has consistently been one of the most popular events on the calendar for the women.
“We are excited to start the year with the Eclectic,” Tournament Coordinator Katie O’Connell said. “Oakmont is a fantastic course and will be a great venue for this event. I know our players have been eager to get back out on the course and compete.”
Oakmont Country Club is a picturesque, par-72 championship golf course that was built in 1986. Don January, winner of the 1967 PGA Championship, served as golf course design consultant to Roger Packard, the course architect, in designing a track considered the best combination of natural beauty and challenging play in the area. The course is located on 170 acres of beautiful rolling terrain that will provide a great playing experience to all competitors in this tournament.
The 112-player field will play a two-day, 36-hole individual Eclectic. Each player will take her better hole score over the two days. Gross and Net winners will be awarded.
This year’s Women’s Eclectic will feature another strong field, as many of the best women across the state aim to start the 2023 season strong.
“This event always has a strong field because many players are looking to get back into competitive golf after the winter months and this is a great way to get things started,” O’Connell said. “It’s also a player favorite because of the allure of playing a different format event.”
Last year, Mallory Matthews of Hondo was crowned the Overall Gross Champion after finishing 5-under for the event and two shots ahead of the field. Katy’s Wendy Ewbank finished at 10-under total to par net to earn Overall Net Champion honors.
Round one tees off Monday, March 13. The final round takes place on Tuesday, March 14. For more information on the Women’s Eclectic, click here.
