Handicapping

The purpose of the USGA Handicap SystemTM is to make the game of golf more enjoyable by enabling golfers of differing abilities to compete on an equitable basis.

The Texas Golf Association works in cooperation with the United States Golf Association (USGA) on handicapping matters for golf clubs located in the state of Texas. The TGA is proud to provide the Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN), the most widely recognized and credible handicapping service in the United States. GHIN is used by more than 12,400 clubs and over 2 million golfers, which makes it the largest handicap service provider in the world.

For your convenience, the online USGA Handicap System manual and all information pertaining to handicaps including FAQs may be accessed under “Resource Center” link to the right.  If you have additional questions, please feel free to call on or email one of the TGA representatives listed under “Contact Information.”
