The Legends Junior Tour will award points to the top finishers in each division at each Championship. The LJT Player of the Year Points List will be used to establish exemption criteria for invitationals, help players earn priority entry status, determine the Legends Junior Tour Players of the Year and the Jackie Burke Cup teams. The point standings will be continually updated and made available on the Legends Junior Tour website.
In the 2019 season, points will be awarded to 1/2 of the total number of players who tee off in Round 1 in each division in the field.
*For example: if 84 players tee off in Round 1 in the Boys 15-18 Division, points will be awarded to 1/2 of the field or 42 places.
**If there are fewer than 10 players in a division, only half the points will be awarded to those who earn Player of the Year points.
In 2018, points will also be awarded to outside events. All LJT events will be considered Tier 1 events with LJT majors worth twice as many points as open events. NTPGA All-American Tour, STPGA Prestige Tour, and HGA Performance Series, events will be considered Tier 2 events with each event worth approximately 1/4 points of LJT open events.
*For a player to earn points from outside events, he/she must be a current member AND have a Legends Junior Tour profile at the time points are earned.
In order to be eligible for Player of the Year awards and the Jackie Burke Cup, a player must EARN points in a minimum of two Legends Junior Tour events. Player of the Year awards and Jackie Burke Cup teams will be announced following the Texas Cup Invitational.
