Rules of Golf

Education

Following a successful Major Changes program that was conducted in the Fall of 2018, the TGA has developed a Rules Education Program that will be offered to provide education on the Rules of Golf that went into effect January 2019.

Rules of Golf Seminar

The program will be comprised of a presentation on the Major Changes to the Rules of Golf which will include PowerPoint slides and videos. It is designed for both the recreational and competitive golfer. TGA Member Clubs have the opportunity to host a Major Changes Seminar for their membership and invited guests. Advanced Rules of Golf Seminar

The program will be comprised of a classroom style lecture which will include PowerPoint slides and videos. Following the lecture, attendees will have the opportunity to become certified on the new Rules of Golf. The TGA has the ability to administer the PGA/USGA 80-question advanced exam. By achieving a score of 70 out of 80 or higher, individuals will earn the “Advanced” Rules Certification with the PGA and USGA.

The Advanced Rules of Golf Seminar is open to the public and designed for Club Professionals, Volunteer Officials, and individuals who have an understanding of the Rules of Golf. Dates for the seminars are TBD.

PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops

The PGA of America and USGA bring together some of the foremost Rules educators in the game for three and a half day workshops, to provide attendees with an in-depth knowledge of the Rules and prepare them to work as Rules officials in competition. The workshops are held throughout the United States. For the 2020 workshop schedule and more information, click here.
