Rules of Golf

Texas Golf Association events are conducted under the 2023 Rules of Golf as produced by the R&A and USGA. The TGA houses a full-time staff that is trained in the rules from the national governing body and helps administer and understand the contents of the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf.

Events may have supplemental local rules in place for the various member clubs hosting events as well as a “Hard Card” which is in effect for all TGA Championships. The supplemental rules, or Notice to Players, will be decided by the Tournament Rules Committee and passed out to players before each round.

The following resources will allow you to understand the Rules of Golf that took effect in 2023. Also, outlined below are ways that you can get your hands on the Rules whether it is online, through publication, or via smart phone or tablet.
