TGA Works

TGA Works provides high school students the opportunity to get an insight of what working at a golf club entails. The TGA Foundation communicates with surrounding organizations such as the First Tee and Texas Golf Alliance to select motivated students looking to enter a career in the golf industry.
Once the application process is completed, the intern will work within multiple areas of club operations giving the student a diverse look around the operations of a golf club. Not only do the students get to learn about operations, they are also given opportunities to learn and play golf throughout their term.

TGA Works currently has six high school students interning across Texas this summer. Those youngsters are learning important life skills such as hospitality, time management, customer service and leadership. There are also benefits for the club, as they receive extra summer staffing and potential future full-time employees. The TGA Foundation offsets the interns’ wages up to $3,000 in grant funding, with the potential of hiring a long-term employee.

The TGA Foundation hopes to expand the number of interns each summer to grow the game and enrich the lives of junior golfers as well as to get golfers prepared for their next step in life.
