Entry & Eligibility Information

Entries Open: August 16, 2021 @ 9:00 a.m.
Entries Close: September 29, 2021 @ 5:00 p.m.
Withdraw Date: September 29, 2021 @ 5:00 p.m.

Entry Fee: $240 per player

Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur golfers who are 50 years of age or older by the first round with a certified WHS Handicap Index. Please reference TGA Women’s Policies and Procedures for further details, including Policies and Procedures, and Terms of Competition.

Entry Procedure: In the event the championship becomes over-subscribed, entries will be accepted in order of handicap index based upon the September 29, 2021 World Handicap Revision.

Championship Information

Field Size: The field is limited to 96.

Format: The championship will be a 54-hole stroke play championship. The 16 players with the lowest handicap indexes at the Women’s Senior Stroke Play will be required to play from the Championship Tees (approx. 5500-5700 yards). All other players may select which tees they wish to play from – the Championship Tees or the Flights Tees (approx. 5100-5300 yards). Upon completion of Round 2, the field will be broken into flights based on 36-hole scores.

**Players have the option to change their division up until Monday, October 4, 2021 at 5:00 PM.

What’s Included: The championship entry fee includes greens fees, cart fees, and range fees for the practice round and all championship rounds. The entry fee will also include a championship tee gift and lunch after the First and Final Rounds.

Hotel: There is no host hotel for the Women’s Senior Stroke Play Championship. TGA Members can take advantage of Affinity Travel Benefits by utilizing their hotel search engine by clicking here.

Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round at Ridgewood Country Club on Tuesday, October 12. Players must contact the host club golf shop starting Tuesday, October 5th starting at 8:00 AM and identify themselves as 2021 Women’s Senior Stroke Play player to schedule a practice round.

Registration Information: There will be no player registration for the 2021 Women’s Senior Stroke Play Championship. Players may pick up the tee gift in scoring after Round 1.

Starting Times/Pairings Information: Pairings for Round 1 will be posted online at www.txga.org no later than Friday, October 8. Second and Final Round pairings will be made available the evening preceding play.

Prizes/Awards: Merchandise gift certificates redeemable at the host club golf shop will be awarded within each flight.

The Overall Senior Champion will be awarded from the Championship Tees.

A Super Senior (65-69) will be awarded from the Championship Tees and the Flights Tees.

The Legends Champion (70+) will be awarded from the Flights Tees.

The Founders Cup is awarded to the club whose two players had the lowest combined net score during round one.

Policies & Procedures

To ensure that competitors have the best possible experience when competing in the championship, it is helpful to be knowledgeable of Texas Golf Association (TGA) Policies and Procedures, Terms of Competition and Local Rules (Hard Card), as established by the association. TGA Cart Policy: Players must ride throughout the championship. Carts are limited o two (2) riders at a time and a maximum of two (2) carts per group. Players MUST share carts if applicable. Riding on the back of golf carts is prohibited.

Caddies: Caddies are not permitted during the championship.

TGA Medical Cart Request Policy

Spectators carts are prohibited. However, spectators in accordance of ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season. A request will not be deemed complete until all required information and documentation has been provided.
